// WHAT TO EXPECT
Here's how a session runs.
Every MathLab session is built the same way, a short predictable arc that respects your student's time and mine. Here's the shape of a typical 50 minutes.
// 01 · BEFORE THE SESSION
Prep notes 48 hrs ahead
You send what your student is working on, the worksheet, upcoming test, chapter they're stuck on. I review it, build a custom slide deck, and pull matching practice problems in your teacher's style. No generic textbook sheets.
// 02 · MINUTES 0 TO 10
Warm-up & check-in
Quick reset problem from last session to see what stuck, then a two-minute chat about what's confusing right now. This is where I calibrate. Is your student ready to push forward or still shoring up the fundamentals?
// 03 · MINUTES 10 TO 45
Work the real problem
Live on a shared digital whiteboard. I ask questions, your student drives. "What do we know?" "What formula fits?" "Where did that step come from?" I never give answers when a well-placed question would work. Understanding sticks; memorization doesn't.
// 04 · AFTER THE SESSION
Recap upon request
Want to know how a session went? Just ask. Parents can request a session recap anytime, and I'll send a short note covering what we worked on, what your student got, what still needs work, and one thing to practice before the next session.
